There have been a number of concerns relating to landing at Rowter flying from Lords over the risk of rotor and guidelines for pilots. Other than making sure you don't land in rotor at Windy Knoll here is an example of a safe, planned landing at Rowter on that day from my flight - see attachment. I thermalled above the ridge to leave with around 200m which gave me enough height to make Rowter. An alternate route would have been to aim slightly west of Rowter had I encountered a worst glide, which was around 4:1.

I did note a number of mis-guided comments on my flight which boil down to the difficulty and inability of other pilots' judgement of height and perspective.

It would be nice to see another successful flights made to Rowter on the same day posted here 🙂
