Following the extremely popular First Aid training session run by Lee Pearce and Mark Howe at the DSC Repack event earlier this year we are delighted to announce that Lee and Mark are teaming up again to deliver an incident management and first aid training day on the 26th January 2020.
We all participate in a great sport however, it is also a dangerous one, and it comes with the reality that pilots can become seriously injured.
The vast majority of people get themselves on to a first aid course after witnessing an incident. Unfortunately by then it is too late – don’t be that person!
Take this opportunity to best prepare yourself so that should the worst ever happen you will have the basics to manage an incident and indeed carry out basic first aid.
Lee brings his experience from 24 years in the army and many operational tours dealing with single and mass casualties under pressurised situations. Lee has also set up and runs his Fast Response vehicle for East Midlands ambulance service.
Mark Howe is currently a senior paramedic with northwest ambulance service and is in his 20th year as a front line paramedic. Mark has dealt with pretty much most things ranging from minor injuries to major trauma and everything in between. Mark loves the job and is still always learning. Mark has also been a film and TV medic for a number of years.
The session will consist of: –
• Incident management
• Basic first aid
• CPR- Defibrillator training
• Helmet removal
• Spinal care and awareness
Please also remember that what you learn during this session is completely transferable into your life outside of flying and may make the difference one day to a member of the public, a friend or even a loved one.
Lee and Mark hope to run two sessions. One in the morning from 09:00-13:00 and one in the afternoon from 13:30-17:30.
Pilots can attend either session but not more than one. Book as soon as you can please to guarantee a place as this is a first come first served event.
On attendance there will be a minimum donation to be made of not less than £5 with ALL PROCEEDS going to our local MOUNTAIN RESCUE teams.
Booking is via WebCollect.
Those who attended the last time on this will know just how good this was and will also appreciate that Lee and Mark are adding much more to this event.
Learn skills that could one day save a life and support your local mountain rescue team!
Many thanks and best regards,
Jason Smith
