Hello all,
I'm just about to be signed off on my PG-CP [Hill]. I'm based down south dude to work, but am from the Midlands originally. I've spent quite a bit of time hiking and climbing in the Peaks in the past, and it would be awesome to fly there too.
I've joined the Southern PG/HC club, but in an effort to add diversity to my flying sites [and also chances of flying when the weather isn't right down bottom] I'm going to join up with you guys.
I'm looking at doing an SIV in October, to bolster the little knowledge that I have thus far.
I'm keen to get up and flying and amass as much airtime as I can.
Hope to see you guys on the hills sometime soon.
Cheers
Ade
Hi Ade,
Welcome to the club. The Peak District is a great place to fly with fantastic scenery as you will know. Good luck with your SIV I did one in Annecy last June, 18 months into my starting to Paraglide and really enjoyed it. If you don't have it already I recommend getting hold of SIV II DVD from Jocky Sanderson so you get a good idea of what to expect. I logged about 120 hrs post CP before doing SIV and was reasonably comfortable with all the manoeuvres. The least experienced pilot had about 40hrs and completed about half the tasks. Good luck completing your CP and see you on the hill,
Chris

Cheers for the welcome and the link Chris.
From my basic calcs, it seems you've progressed to AP rating inside of three years from CP. That's reassuring to hear. I was expecting it to be a long drawn out affair. I guess it is one of those things that you get out of, what you put in.
Here's hoping to make some timely progress with my development. Just need the weather gods to start being a little more favourable....
