Hello

I thought I should introduce myself - I'm Dan, and I've just rejoined the club after an absence of maybe 20 years 🙁

The first aircraft I flew was a hang glider back in the early 90's, and it's fair to say flying has been my passion ever since.  The bug bit me hard and I've been lucky enough to enjoy all sorts of flying from Warriors, Cessnas, a spin in a Jet Provost, paragliders, to more recently flex and fixed wing microlights, SSDR, and even a go in an HPA!  But HG has always been the closest to my heart, and I've yearned to get back into prone and grinning like a schoolboy as I did on my first CP soaring flights on Rushup 🙂

I've recently moved to a place downwind of the Peak District and surrounded by fields to try and achieve a personal goal I've had for all this time - fly home from the hills!  Not the biggest XC admittedly, but it's enough for me.  I've engineered a situation that allows me to fly when the weather behaves while work can wait, so I'll be a midweek and weekend pilot - are there many members who fly during the week?

I'll be brushing up on my skills shortly to stay safe and then hope to meet you all out on the hill!

Cheers

Dan

Hi Dan and welcome back,
After a 20 year break I think you'll find mid-week can be as busy as a weekend (nobody works for a living anymore or we are all OAPs).
Hope to see you on the hills soon.

Thanks Steve, and good to hear I might be bumping into some of the old crowd! Early on I'm going to appreciate the fact that it's busy midweek, although I'll reserve the right to retract that opinion at a later date 🙂

See you soon I hope!

Dan
