Hi Howard, I think we have been in touch by other media sometimes hard on the Forum to recognise who is who with different usernames. I am guilty as well with my user name ChrisD for Chris Dervin. It also helps to recognise folks on the hill if they can load an avatar of their wing. Anyway see you on the hill, once the rain stops.
Hi Drew
Hopefully all sorted with with the basics now finished the CP with Mark Bosher and got a few post qual flights in. Now just need to start the process of building up my confidence to fly without an instructor on my arm. Slowly and methodically is the plan bit like when you first passed your driving test its just weird not having someone with you keeping you right all the time. You realise you got to do it for yourself.
Looking forward to catching up with everyone on the hills.
Cheers
Howard
Flying without the reassuring and familiar voice of your instructor is daunting enough, but joining a club full of strangers and finding a supportive coach adds to the pressure on most new pilots. But it's the same for most of us.
A good tip for any new pilot is to make the effort to come out on a flyable day - even if the conditions are less than ideal and your wing stays in its bag. You'll learn a lot just watching, chatting and listening, and you'll meet pilots just like you and start putting names to faces.
