DSC communication?
Please do not put this post on Facebook or Telegram.
I think all inter committee communication should be done by email or through this DSC website.
Communication to members and members to members. Should be members, only on this website, the DSC face book page and the DSC telegram sites.

Why? Because the DSC is a club of members that work together to promote their shared sport.
What use is DSC Facebook group to anyone that is not in our club.?  What use is DSC telegram to anyone that is not in our club?
Usefulness? For instance there are 1250 DSC Facebook group members. When we needed to sort out a slope landing area. Only 8 members of the DSC turned up to clear it for landing option. Is this because most Face-bookers do not fly?

Like the DSC telegram group. I assume people like it because, members and non club members can tell their mates when  its flyable on DSC sites.

Laughably, this post would be better put on Facebook where people will actively discuss it.
I see where you are coming from, and sort of agree. I think we reached an even lower percentage of pilots who are willing to lift a finger for the club than we ever have, for many that goes as far as joining the club in the first place.
However forums are not as easy as telegram or whatsapp on a mobile phone. Poeple want to communicate quickly and easily.
how great it would be if flying info on our sites could be on a members only whatsapp or telegram. However there is no way to enforce that and stop similar unofficial groups that people will join.
If our sites are members only, then the xc leagues should reject flights from non members that start on our sites. Other than that I see no way to have any site policing. Nobody wants to do it on the hill. But that idea has been mooted in the past an the xc leagues refused it. there was a controversy a year or two about flights made from an officially closed site and I don't know what the outcome of that was.
I dont know how to increase peer pressure from our members to get non members to join but it is at an all time low. I simply cant believe that even half the pilots out flying are actually club members. The numbers don't add up.
